On January 10th, 2022 in the evening, officers responded to a stabbing. During the investigation, a juvenile suspect was developed; the victim was also a juvenile. Warrants were obtained for the juvenile offender and she was later arrested and charged as an adult. The investigation is still ongoing.

On the weekend of January 21st through 23rd, numerous complaints of vehicles being broken into and attempts being made were filed. The majority of vehicles that get entered are ones that are left unlocked. Many firearms have been stolen this way; some of these guns have later been used in the commission of crimes. If you have firearms, please do not leave them in your vehicle at all. If you see anything unusual in your area, please call and alert the police.

On Sunday night, January 23rd, a vehicle was entered and a firearm was stolen. The firearm had a GPS tracking device installed. The victim assisted police in tracking the firearm to an address. A search warrant was obtained and executed. The firearm was located and gave detectives valuable leads to the identity of the offender.

On January 22nd, 2022 at around 6:45pm, officers were dispatched to the area of Johnson and the railroad tracks for an accident involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they searched the area and found nothing, so they moved to the next crossing at Hale Street. In that area, a body was located and identified as Ronnie Knighten of Osceola. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is still ongoing. The thoughts and prayers of the Osceola Police Department are with the family, friends, and loved ones of Mr. Knighten during this time.
